Overview
This guide outlines the process of joining a Webscale role and securing your account using Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), which is required for high-level roles like 'Admin Whitelist'.
Prerequisites
Access to the invitation email.
A mobile device with an authenticator app installed (e.g., Google Authenticator or Authy).
Step 1: Accept the Invitation
Open the email from Webscale Networks with the subject "You've been invited to a new Webscale role!"
Review the role details (e.g., 'Admin Whitelist').
Click the unique authorization link provided in the body of the email.
Step 2: Create Your Account
On the "Create your Webscale account" page, your email will be pre-filled.
Enter your Name and desired SSH username.
Create a strong Password that meets all requirements:
Minimum 8 characters.
One lowercase and one uppercase letter.
At least one digit.
Click Sign up.
Step 3: Accept the Role in the Dashboard
Once logged in, you will be directed to your Profile page.
Scroll down to the Roles section.
Find the role with the "pending" status and click the Accept button.
Note: A yellow notification banner will appear stating that the role requires MFA enrollment before it can be fully activated.
Step 4: Initiate MFA Enrollment
Once you click on Accept, a QR code will appear on the screen.
Step 5: Scan and Verify MFA Code
Open your chosen authenticator app on your mobile device and select "Add Account" or "Scan QR Code."
Scan the QR code displayed in the browser.
Once the account is added to your app, enter the 6-digit code generated by the app into the "MFA code" field on the website.
Click Verify.
A security prompt will appear. Enter your current account password to confirm your identity and click Confirm.
Step 6: Completion
A "Success" pop-up will appear confirming that Multi-factor enrollment was successful.
Click Ok.
Your Profile page will now show the role status as accepted, and the MFA section will confirm you are currently enrolled.
Security Tip: Ensure you do not share your MFA QR code or 6-digit codes with anyone.
